The heater is great! Makes the tank perfect for betafish. The light will change from red to green when the tank reaches the correct temperature (78*). Submerge the heater up to the cord in water and the tank will get very hot, so be sure to unplug the heater when cleaning the tank.

I was hesitant to purchase based on the photos and reviews of the Agee and almost returned it, but this worked as intended in my 5 gallon table top tank with no issues. Stick to 77-78 and heat up quickly. Good size, great value.

I have had a 25 watt heater in my betta aquarium for a year now and it works great. The thermometer is a little clumsy, but it works. However, the heater is the star and works perfectly. After using it for a year, the temperature label on the top of the heater has completely peeled off, but I don’t plan on changing the temperature on the dial, so I don’t really care.

I’ve had this thing for probably over a year and it still works. The temperature will vary depending on the size of the tank. It does a good job of mining at 5 and keeping around 80 of the bettas. I think the person cooking the fish is either an operator error or the tank is smaller so the temperature fluctuates more. For example, it looks like a small black plastic pad.

The dial to change the temperature is really difficult. A small adjustment makes a big difference in temperature. The heater works great when dialed in. A digital thermometer is a great addition to your heating unit. All in all I am satisfied with this price. I use it in my 3.5 gallon tank with betta fish.

It’s only been in the tank for 3.5 days so I hope it stays happy.The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because I’m not sure about the accuracy, but it’s new , there is also the possibility of “operation error”.

Much more accurate than preset nano heaters. The full temperature range meets the needs of a 5.5 gallon planted tank used as parent fish for growing nano-sized tropical fish from 78°F to 84°F. I would like the controller to be closer to the tank than the outlet. In my case the dial is at ground level and hard to read unless you are at eye level.The overall quality of materials and appearance is very good.

Great heater! I didn’t know if I could trust the heater alone, so I also bought a thermometer. I didn’t want the tank to get too hot or too cold, but it seems to work fine. It’s off by a few degrees, but I just added a little more water. That may be the reason. I have been using this heater for almost a week and have had no problems.

Bought this to replace a very old Rena heater. Once adjusted, it maintains the exact same temperature for months. The heating element is small enough to fit in the filter box of most small aquariums with built-in filter boxes. I especially like the external temperature control. No need to get your hands wet or remove the lid to make adjustments.

I’m not sure why I bought from this company again – yes, because if the hygger stops after 30 days of run time, the heater can be delivered the next day/same day. Ginger, it’s working so far…

I had no problems at all with this little heater. Stabilize the water temperature. I always set it low and monitor it with a thermometer to start, but I’ve found it to be as accurate and reliable as the setting.
